Pantomime Character

Dressing up as a pantomime character to go a party is one thing but having to mimic and act out the character is another matter – especially if you go as the monkey King Kong. The problem you may have when dressing up as a pantomime character is trying to choose what costume you want to adorn. No matter what or who you go dressed as - will always be referred to as a fancy dress outfit. Fancy dress gatherings are very popular - so if you have been invited to a get together as such – then you will want to look the part- and more importantly be comfortable in the pantomime outfit of your chosen pantomime character. When choosing the costume make it more interesting by asking a friend along to help you pick, you know what they say i.e. two heads are better than one. By doing this you can make a day out of it, for example go along to the department store where you will be buying your costume or hiring it from - followed by a spot of lunch. Bear in mind whatever the pantomime character costume you have in mind, the more unique - the better. Originality will get you noticed Famous characters in pantomime that go down well are Cinderella, Snow White or one of the seven dwarfs, Pinocchio or even Prince Charming. The list of options is endless. It would be worth your while to go along to a showing of a pantomime in a theatre close to you and take notes of all the characters on stage, this will give you great ideas. Dorothy, the Tin Man or The Lion from the Wizard of Oz are good choices. Whatever pantomime character you have your heart set on – remember that a wicked witch will stand out more at a party than a fairy. So try doing a little research behind the scenes on what pantomime character or characters are more likely to stand out than that of others.
